Cyber Event Designer

Our Cyber and Intelligence division is seeking a skilled Cyber Event Designer to spearhead the development of innovative solutions aimed at engineering DoD cyber test environments. This role involves supporting Developmental Test & Evaluation, Operational Test & Evaluation, and Research Evaluations, as well as facilitating Cyber Mission Forces (CMF) training across all branches of service.

Responsibilities:

  • Derive test objectives from diverse input sources and translating these objectives into actionable tasks for establishing a controlled cyber test environment. They will also oversee the execution of test activities, collaborating closely with engineering and cyber evaluation teams.
  • Evaluate training objectives for different proficiency levels of trainees. The Cyber Event Designer will be responsible for defining training objectives, identifying data capture prerequisites, and introducing the necessary environment realism to uphold the training goals.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance is required.
  • 5+ years of engagement in Cyber Network Operations / Cyber Defense Operations, or a minimum of 5 years of hands-on involvement in conducting cyber exercises, encompassing planning, coordination with end users, event sponsors, and partner infrastructure providers.
  • Intermediate-level familiarity with: software development; programming languages; operating systems; networks; enterprise and consumer IT concepts, architectures, and systems (including compute, network, storage).
  • Proficiency in defensive and offensive cyber tools and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP).
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites (approximately 10% travel).
  • Proficiency in defensive and offensive cyber Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures.
  • Capability to devise and assess network and software systems architectures.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in technical writing and verbal communication, with an emphasis on eliciting objectives and requirements, effectively conveying design choices, and updating senior leadership.

Desired Expertise:

  • Previous exposure to DT&E and/or OT&E.
  • Familiarity with US CYBERCOM and other DoD cyber training entities.
  • Established capability to orchestrate cyber training events, adept at breaking down training objectives and MSELs into computer systems and network design components.
  • Understanding of and adeptness in employing network sensors and traffic generation tools within the context of designing training-oriented cyber environments.
